East of Bobcaygeon lays Pigeon Lake, one of five inter-connected lakes on the Trent-Severn Waterway. The Bald Lakes, Buckhorn Lake, and Lake Chemung along with Pigeon Lake are accessible lock free and combined, form the second largest body of water on the Trent System. It’s a long, narrow lake with north-south axis: it is 17 miles long, averaging between 1 and 2 miles wide, 123 km of shore-line and an average depth of 3 meters.

The Lake is fed by Nogies Creek from the north, Sturgeon Lake to the west, and the Pigeon River to the south, as well as the Bald Lake chain to the north-east.
It’s a popular fishing destination, known for its large-mouth and small-mouth bass, walleye, and muskie and is host to numerous fishing tournaments throughout the summer and ice fishing in the winter.
On the west shore, Pigeon Lake Road ( Kawartha Lakes rd. 17), the Gaming Nature Centre operates a 100-acre property with a natural shoreline, surrounded by wetlands, forests and meadows. They offer walking trails, day camps, work-shops and guest speakers-visit their website to learn more.
